Children can be assigned to a room based on birth date or grade and region. Rooms are setup using default settings of birthday range, maximum number of children, number of teachers needed, override rooms in the event this room reaches capacity and check in area. By assigning rooms to a check in area the system can be set up to check in preschool area rooms by birthday and elementary rooms by grade. Children can also be assigned a default room that overrides the room assignment. This is helpful in areas assigned by ability (sitting up, crawling, walking) rather than age.

Once a child's room has been determined, the room may be further subdivided into small groups. Children can be divided by grade, gender, region (school) and Small groups can be assigned a specific coach/teacher. Small groups can also be predetermined and saved as a child's default to prevent the child from getting a different small group each week.
